Somdev VASUDEVA is focus advisor for KBR and his background is in the field of Sanskrit aesthetics, literature and language.

The following information is neither exclusive nor comprehensive but covers suggestions and ideas for topics I am interested in supervising.

Possible areas of supervision:

  • Aesthetics and theories of motivation
  • Epistemology and phenomenology of aesthetics
  • Non-European theories of critical thinking
  • Pre-modern food exchanges, spice trade, new world food in South Asia (historical food reconstruction)
  • Theories of the self, personal and transpersonal identity
  • Transculturality of esoteric religion, religious practices, and doctrines
  • Transcultural exchanges of poetry, drama, and poetic theory (esp. South Asia)
  • Sanskrit as an agent of transcultural exchange
  • South Asian court culture
  • Yoga studies
