Rethinking Transcultural Dynamics
On December 9 (Sat), 2017, the Graduate School of Letters holds its annual Ibunkai Symposium. This year, the event celebrates the establishment of the new Joint Degree Master in Transcultural Studies. The Japanese-language symposium titled “Rethinking Transcultural Studies” (文化越境のダイナミックス) introduces the audience to the genealogy and core theories of the field and showcases current research projects. Ministry Authorization
On June 27, 2017, the Kyoto University Graduate School of Letters received the authorization from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to establish a “Joint Degree Master of Arts Program in Transcultural Studies” with its partner, the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS) at Heidelberg University, Germany.
